Using your Al Fresco Pizza Ovens pizza peel, place your pizza on the oven floor, right next to the fire. Be sure to keep an eye on your pizza as it cooks. Your pizza is done when the cheese is melted, and the edges are golden brown.

It should only take three to four minutes in a wood-fired pizza oven because of the high temperatures. Our pizza ovens are designed so that the entire pizza gets the heat evenly and is cooked at a very high temperature, which doesn’t happen in an ordinary oven.

Wood-fired pizza tastes better because the high heat and woodsmoke add a unique flavour and texture. The bottom of the crust cooks very quickly, giving it a delicious flavour and promptly seals in the moisture from the sauce so the crust does not become soggy.

The most important factors when cooking your pizza in a pizza oven is temperature and time. Make sure your pizza oven reaches optimal heat and do not cook your pizza any longer than necessary.
